Lygia Pires is a graphic designer and visual artist based in Brazil. She has qualification in Fashion Design from the Faculdade Santa Marcelina, Graphic Design and Motion Graphics from the Panamericana School of Art and Design, and Drawing and Illustration from the Quanta Academy of Arts. She is currently a freelancer and works out of her own studio producing lettering, illustration, calligraphy and design pieces for big national and international names like Louis Vuitton, Mont Blanc, Budweiser, and Puma, to name just a few.
She also teaches calligraphy and lettering courses across Brazil as well as online since 2015. Her work has been published in the Australian book Typism in editions 5, 6, and 7. In 2020, she received the Communication Arts Typography Award of Excellence and the Type Directors Club New York  (TDC 66) Certificate of Typographic Excellence.

Lygia Pires é designer gráfica e artista visual, que vive em Itu/ São Paulo, Brasil .Ela é formada em Desenho de Moda pela Faculdade Santa Marcelina, Design Gráfico e Motion Graphics pela Escola Panamericana de Arte e Design e em Desenho e Ilustração pela Quanta Academia de Artes. Atua como freelancer em seu próprio estúdio, produzindo trabalhos de caligrafia, lettering, ilustração e design, atendendo grandes clientes nacionais e internacionais como Louis Vuitton, Mont Blanc, Budweiser, Puma, entre outros.
Atualmente, ministra cursos de caligrafia e lettering em diversas cidades do Brasil e online desde 2015. Teve trabalhos publicados no livro australiano Typism (Edições 5, 6 e 7). Em 2020, recebeu o Prêmio de Excelência da Communication Arts Typography 2020 e o Certificado de Excelência Tipográfica do Type Director Club de Nova York (TDC66).
