The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
"O Cavaleiro dos Sete Reinos" is the Brazilian edition of "The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", by George R.R. Martin, author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" (Game of Thrones).
I was invited by Companhia das Letras and Editora Suma to create the book cover design, the endpapers and chapter openings.
The book cover was inspired by the Dunk's shield, main character of the book.

The cover design has the characteristics and aspects of a medieval and epic fantasy book, like a frame of flourishes, lightning bolts and Roman Capital letters. All this in gold foil, contrasting with the burgundy background.
The chapters openings follow the same cover style and the endpapers are a scan of a marbled paper I made myself years ago. I just coloured it digitally with burgundy and pale orange.
